Finished the cutting board. Custom to fit the left sink.
Scraps are easily pushed into the right sink to be gathered
for the composter. Kind of disappointed that the purple heart
lost some of it's color w/the oil finish.
I went w/the mineral oil. We shall see.

Your board looks great! Your purple heart did much better than mine. Several years ago I made 6 end grain cutting boards with: maple, walnut, and purple heart. They were beautiful! I was so Happy! Then I soaked them in mineral oil. At a distance, you cannot distinguish between the two dark woods.

Thanks! The purple heart is an enigma.
Having had a chance to use the board a few times.......
the sink option is fabulous.
So far, very pleased w/the mineral oil finish.

I finally brought the Golden spiral box to fruition.
If nothing else, it is a unique box and I doubt there will ever
be another one like it. It will head out into the world next week.
Thoughts.....
I really hope that some day.....way past my time here in time and space....
a discerning wood worker will examine this box carefully. He will find some
very strange anomalies and scratch his head and wonder .....why? ...and how?

Saved the old cutting board. Just couldn't toss it after 40yrs of service.
The center of the board was worn down to 5/16" from the 3/4" when it was built.
Exposed a couple of the dowels used to joint it when it was built.
Left all the knife marks from all those years.
Should be able to enjoy it for another 40.

You need to stop this thing before it gets out of control and becomes and addiction.
