I just used a wire wheel (Brass) and a light touch, then a wipe down with 3in1 oil....
Not only on these 4, but...
These two 6" squares as well...
Show me a picture, I'll build a project from that

A black acrylic paint pen can be used to fill the lines if they need retouching after cleaning/polishing...It's fade proof and permanent, unlike a black marker.
