I have a wood lathe with a 3/4-16 threaded spindle. The lathe came with a 1-12 threaded chuck. I obviously need a spindle adaptor to be able to use the chuck. i found a source for the appropriate size adaptor - the question now is do I need it to be right or left threaded?
Thanks for any help you can offer

What kind of chuck is it?
If it is a type that is designed to take an insert, you might be better off with a spindle insert from the chuck manufacturer rather than an adapter. The tolerances might be tighter.
