It looks like the electronic board is only ~$40. A new bare tool is >$100. I guess I will get the electronics and fix the old tool. Now who knows what driver fits the screws in the outer case? They look like hex but I can't find an SAE or metric allen key to fit them.

All 4 of mine are torx screws. As to size, I'm looking for a bit small enough to fit them.
aw10 is a tad to big

Yup, a t8 torx is what you need.

cool!
just curious . . . was that tool parts direct?? that's where i found mine.
kinda cool cause this isn't something i would typically do, so it was an interesting little project -- worked out great, so hope it'll be the same for you.

Tool parts direct looks to be the most expensive at $49. Bosch has it for $38 and repair tool parts is $44.60. I don't know how shipping compares.
My torx bits only go to T10. I will look for something that has a T8.

$57.75 with shipping with no idea how it was used or abused. And, there are 6 days left to auction.
The listing says and shows a 12v battery, but says bare tool.
I'd go for putting a new module in my existing tool.

See ya later,

Think it's safe to say it wasn't abused. Doesn't look like it was even used at all.
In fact , I'd guess it was part of a combo set/kit based on one of the pics.
The
description states it comes with a 12v- 2.0Ah battery and it's clearly shown in the pictures , which are part of the binding description. At $35 for the battery, makes the drill @ 22-23 bucks ! Plus, shipping may be less for CE than you or me. Might be more too.
Of course it could get bid up to $100 by the end, or no one may bid on it and you get a bargain. You could also submit an offer of let's say, $40 for the drill, $35 for battery, and be less realized cost than that of the repair module. Assuming you want / need another battery, but who doesn't fit into that category ? Specially when it's an upgrade on what you have ! I say less because you won't have to buy the T8 bit to preform the repair.
And, let's not forget CE will still have a worn drill after the repair.

It is all fixed now with a new board. It was an interesting puzzle to put together but it works again.
