I am going to be working on a Craftsman Covel power hack saw. I was wondering what color of blue you used on your planer. Was it rattle can or something you had mixed?

Rattle can. Its Ace hardware brand that I found to be the close to OEM without having a special mix to match exactly

I owned this same Craftsman planer thirty year’s ago and it was painted the standard Craftsman grey not blue.

The planer was made through the years of 40 to 50s. Craftsman had blue a grey. The year I have is 1940. Craftsman blue was OEM. Reason yours was grey was in the 50s. Another tell of model year is by the badge and model number.
