I think supplying the indirect fired water heater with cold, and the hot from that to the Hybrid might be more efficient. Your hybrid water heater most likely has an electric element for when the heat pump side can't meet demand. If you used that switched power to power the circulator pump (or zone valve), the boiler would only fire when the hybrid couldn't keep up and the rest of the time that tank would just be a tempering tank. There are different types/functions of boiler/burner controls. You'll want the type that fires only on a demand and powers the circulator after a min. set point is reached. I think you already have that type of control so you might want to set the min. to a lower setting, the max. to a higher setting and decrease the "difference". This should turn the circulator on sooner and keep the boiler temp higher for as long as it's calling for heat.

Your 50gal tank will be more than sufficient for 4 people, why bother with the hassle of the plumbing.
