Do they come with a $100 saw blade + $300 dado stack ?  What about a tenon jig and premium miter fence ?

Paid $150 recently for an absolutely mint 2hp uni with bies fence and 1 forrest blade - listed by an estate sale specialist, it didn't sell at $300. Here are the ones currently available that haven't sold:

Of course that list is a mixed bag but up here the op saw would be overpriced. Every market is different, though, and ultimately it is market that determines whether something is fair or overpriced.

asking price tells me price is negotiable

determine a price you will pay.  say you are willing to pay $1500. offer a grand.

so……………….the answer is no ?
Confused

Not one of those saws is anywhere close to the condition of the saw represented by weelis. They aren’t really comparable in spec either.

I get your point though, and agree about specific markets / and their conditions.  Water is extremely valuable to humans in the desert - not as much in the rainforest.

Free unisaws /pm66’s
Rolleyes good grief - you must be livin right.

All depends on how you look at it.  I have run out of space in the shop.  I probably have 8 in storage

Condition is condition; and a shiny saw with low hours is gonna excite more people looking for a user than an older model that has less HP, faded, scratched up paint , lots of caked on sawdust/grease , and tons of hours.

For the flipper / hoarder - price is paramount. And free is free, cept for the gas used to transport it.  For the collector , I suspect rarity is top of the list.   Pretty sure weelis is not in those categories, and I know there ain’t no free unisaws anywhere close to him.

Bob,
You post a lot of free machinery from Craigslist out there in Cali. I think you explained it once before before but I can't remember the reason. Why do so many people give tools away instead of selling them. Is it because of some weird liability law or something?

IMO, that saw as described is worth $2k all day long to the right person. Show me something in the same class for that price for sale right now for less and I'll change my mind. The question really then is are you the right person for the saw? Nobody can answer that but you. I will say that I agree with some of the other replies about $1,500 'feeling about right' for what that saw should go for. But, the price of everything has gone up so much lately $2k is probably still a deal. One thing to keep in mind, Delta parts are hard, if not impossible, to come by these days. Maybe not that big of a deal, but if you ever break a trunion for example, you're probably going to have a boat anchor. I ran into this with an old DJ20 that I bought. PIA trying to replace a few knobs and other odds and ends, but not impossible.

You'll love the saw though. I have almost the exact same saw and I wouldn't trade it for anything short of a SawStop* (*only due to my son getting into WW and he's not as careful as me).

Time is a major factor and many closing shops need the machines to get gone.  Also shops and techies ditched saws without the sawstop technology.
Lastly lots of people have no idea or means to move machinery.  I moved laundry equipment when I was young so these type machines rarely compare in size and weight to what I learned on so when I tell someone I can pick it up today or tomorrow without saying I need to gather help or a truck just an address and time they are happy to supply both.  I have 2 of the 39 Uni's in storage I use a General 350 and have a spare in storage along with other Uni's and PM's.  My hope is to get things arranged to allow for leaving a few saws set up for certain tasks and leaving them that way
