On a regular chainsaw, open the oil cap and put it back on before storing.  Sometimes that relieves a little pressure.

On pole saws, leaking the oil is a feature.  Pretty sure that across brands.

That guy is the best no BS  no agenda reviewer I've ever seen.  The only drawback I can see is his tests don't account for long term reliability. Rob Robillard is pretty close, but appears to be more connected with some of the manuf. than PF.

I store all my chainsaws chain down in a 5 gallon bucket.  That way any mess is contained to the chain, bar and the bucket.

Forget the Dewalt. It's related to the Exxon Valdez. No o-ring seals anywhere in the oiler system. Even the fill cap is a plastic to plastic seal. It over oils the bar, slinging oil everywhere. No oiler adjustment on it. And the tank will drip until it's empty.
Other than that, I don't like the saw. Bar is thin and spindly. Battery's don't last long even just trimming small branches.

Yeah...but 3 Amp-hour or 5, 8, or 10???

I'd be surprised if you cut much of anything with a 3 Ah battery...but I'd expect better that what you describe if you used a 10 Ah battery.
