Hi there. I'm in need of a miniature router plane, and was wondering which to get. The Veritas looks good pricewise. Any recommendations out there?

The Lie Nielsen one is awesome. The square shaft prevents lateral movement of the blade.

I have the larger Veritas that works pretty good. I would imagine the smaller would be good too. You could also make your own if you are so inclined. For a small router it should be pretty straight forward.

I have the Veritas one and am happy with it. I used it to clean up dados I cut in cabinet sides to accept metal shelf brackets. Well, the plywood was bowed so grooves were not deep enough in some spots. Since the cabinet was already installed, the back and face frame prevented me from using a full size router plane. Anyway, this is the only actual project use this plane has gotten but it was good enough to get the job done and worked perfectly in this scenario.

Thanks for the replies gents. I ordered the Veritas one. As Phillip 1231 says, its a Lie Nielsen. Would love to have that one, but twice the price of the Veritas. Someday maybe........
