I really like the digital readout by Wiley for my Sawstop
Makes repeat cuts very reliable.
I am running through battery’s fairly quickly forgetting to turn it off.
Is there a way to set it to turn off after a set period of time?

How old is yours? I just looked at a Rockler ad for new ones and on the list of features it says; Auto shut off preserves battery life
In fact, I think mine has that feature and it's at least 10-12 years old.
If you are going down a river at 2 mph and your canoe loses a wheel, how much pancake mix would you need to shingle your roof?

Mine is just a couple years old so it probably should shut off then.
But it stays on literally days at a time.

I suppose it would help to read Wixey FAQs on their sight.
They say 6 months battery life (rockler says 2 years) they also say it doesn’t matter if display is on, as the battery is being consumed by keeping the calibration.

I just remove the battery when not using for a while. Roly

I’d rather replace battery’s periodically instead of recalibrating it.
At least you can tell when battery’s are getting weak. And lock the fence to a known position change the batteries then recalibrate it to the number of the known position you just locked it to.

I have an old Wixey that I ;lost in my workshop about 3 years ago. Just found it and thanks to the auto shutoff the battery was STILL GOOD,

But the on off button just turns off the display per Wixey web FAQ.

The batteries on mine - on both my slider and bandsaw - last for at least a year (and more). I imagine that switching off the display saves battery life.
Bandsaw set up ....
