what is the best way to attach hardwood edge to ply?
1 to 2 inches wide.

rabbet and glue.

Typically I simply glue edging on. I may use a few pin nails to hold things in place until the glue dries, saves on clamps.

Alternatively, groove the ply edging and cut a tongue on the edge of the ply. Very strong joint and if you mill carefully, the T&G will keep everything aligned.
