Table rocking

I built a table based on this design

It's made from solid 3/4 red oak with a 5/4 top. When the top is just layed on The table has some rocking/movement in the long direction when pressure is applied. Any suggestions on the best way to fix this without changing the design much? Would the rocking stop once the top is actually screwed into place?

once secured it probably will stop rocking if the action is slight

Your top is just a little out of flat, no big deal. As long as the top can be firmly held to the frame, it should flatten nicely.

Hard to tell from the photo, but it looks like the top is secured to cleats at the top of the legs. Ideally, you have holes bored and counter bored vertically through the cleats up into the table top. Size the holes and screws properly so that the screws go as deep as possible into the top without coming through.

Lastly, be sure that the screw holes are elongated side to side to insure that the top can move with climate changes.
