small piece of metal needed
#11
Hello all,

I'm building a grandmother clock kit from Empire Clock Co.

The movement has a hand that sticks through the face of the clock that allows you to turn on or off the chimes.

The kit that I was given needs a longer hand (the guy who got it got a face that was the wrong size)

So I need a piece of stainless steel or brass that is 16 gague (just under 1/16" thick) x 3/16" x 2" (or shorter)

Does anyone have a source for something like this or does anyone have a piece laying around that they could part with?

Let me know
Thanks
Peter

This company would have what you need since all they deal with is clocks.

Or you could call them to and give them the info. Really smart people on clocks.

Hobby shops will have brass strips 1/32" ,1/16" etc all 12" long.
Check the net or yellow pages.

Peter, I can fix you up with that. No need to buy anything. I've got a large box of brass bits, should be able to find something. Does it need any kind of profile on the edge? Send me a PM with an email and tomorrow I'll check my stock.

Peter, if Jim can't find you a piece, let me know. I've lots of odds and ends of brass and stainless about.
