An interesting antique bandsaw

Not trying to plug the sale here. I just wanted to share what I thought was an interesting antique bandsaw. Somebody sure took some time to build it. I don't think it's production but it almost seems like maybe? antique bandsaw

Wow,

That's gorgeous. Whoever built it spent a lot of time on it.

I don't think it's going to work very well, as the post is not really stiff enough in the direction that matters to provide the ability to tension the blade up much.

If you look at the last picture it does have a plate on the motor - serial # 009.

Probably hand made. Back then you could buy the parts and plans for machines. My guess is that is what this is. Should be in a museum I would think.

That's an old medical band saw. Light duty, but adequate for the job at hand.
