Amf Float Lock vise parts

  Re: (...)
I won a bunch of stuff at an auction and one of the items is an AMF Float Lock vise for the drill press. It looks like it could be very helpful, but it's missing the piece that locks it on the table. I have tried to look up places that might have them, but no luck so far. Does anyone know where I might find one?

Try searching company names like Heinrich or Wahlstrom.

You might also want to looks at these two topics from the OWWM forums.

As you probably know through internet research , those vises are very expensive to buy new. You might find the part you lack on eBay, eventually. But you may have to wait a long time for one to pop up.

Probably the way to go would be to find someone to fabricate a suitable fixture to attach to the parts you DO have, to make a usable tool. May be more than its worth to you, but that's the way I would go.

Thanks guys. My metal working skills are even worse than my woodworking skills, so I'll either buy one from the company or try to find someone that can make one reasonably. If that doesn't work, I'll just put it in a corner until I stumble across one. Thanks again.

It's just a block with two holes in it and split down the middle right? I might have a piece of aluminum scrap from jig building that would work. I'll make one for you if you don't mind aluminum.
What size hole is needed for the clamp shaft?

Better still, Dave just sent me a PM saying someone else has some extra original brackets they are going to send him.
