Best bandsaw blade?
#10
Are the Timber Wolf bandsaw blades still the preferred choice, or is there something better out there these days?

Also, on a 19" bandsaw that I use predominantly for resawing and straight cuts, will I see a noticeable difference if I drop from a 1" blade down to a 3/4" blade?

I've come to prefer the Lenox Diemaster for non-carbide tooth blades.
I started with absolutely nothing. Now, thanks to years of hard work, careful planning, and perseverance, I find I still have most of it left.

I use Super Cut Bandsaw Slades, for years. 1-800-356-9918. I find them excellent in quality and service. You should get a number of posts on this one. Personal preference.

+1, Diemasters outlast the crap from Timberwolf by about a 5 to 1 margin.

For a non carbide blade I was having real good luck with a Lennox WoodMaster B with a 1.3 tpi cut for resaw

Recently Dave Diaman was talking about Carbide Lennox blades from this vendor price, and his review made them sound like a very good deal. I forget if he said the TriMaster, or the WoodMaster CT. If I had to guess I would say Woodmaster CT
Worst thing they can do is cook ya and eat ya

Lennox Diemaster 2 here, too. Much better life than Timberwolf. Moreover, I had two Timberwolf blades break for no obvious reason.

If your BS can adequately tension a 1" blade, then there's no advantage of using a 3/4". But if it can't, then going to a 3/4" one would be beneficial.

Thanks for the tips. I bit the bullet and ordered the 1" Woodmaster CT.

When were they ever considered to be the preferred choice

They were well discussed and "reasonably" price when they ran the 4-4-3 sale at Suffolk but as long as I can remember there has been quite a bit of critism about these.

I also prefer the DM-2 blades now.
