Bought a Delta 37-315 without a motor a year ago and finally got time to rehab it.
School shop veteran, three or four layers of paint (last one may have been latex house paint, rolled on
) but worth saving.
Picked up a Shelix head from the factory (30 miles away) Got it installed.
Stripped, wirebrushed, sanded, polished, waxed, reassembled and finally got the power to it.
And it ran backwards.
Working on the motor was so much easier when all the cast iron parts were off.

Swapped T5 and T8 and made a bunch of shavings
Now to find a switch and get it installed.
And get that oak dried down from 12%

I had that problem with a band saw. TDPKE (sp?) told me the I needed to rotate the center part of the motor to reverse the rotation. Worked like a charm. If you have a cast iron motor it might be all you have to do as well.

It's just what I had laying around
Bought some heaters for scrap at a auction and they all used those big cords.
Don't have to worry about no overloads

Were you able to buy the shelix directly from Byrd?
I am thinking about upgrading if I can divert some $ to my tool fund.
