Deck Railing
#3
The railing on my deck has seen better days. There are about a million and one different types of railings and styles out there today. I think I'm going to raise the railing height to 42" (currently 36"). I'm kind of leaning toward aluminum balusters but haven't decided on anything yet.

Anybody have a type or manufacturer that you are particularly happy with? Anything to stay away from?

The deck is about 10' by 18' including a set of stairs.

Just a few comments. First off, stay away from horizontal rails or wire. These are all to easily climbed by kids and don't forget spacing of any material needs to be 4" or less. I used 1x1 redwood as vertical balusters and its held up 26 years.

You will be much better off with the 42" height.
