Here's a Type 17, wartime Stanley #5; they don't get much better than this. 100% metal, 100% mechanically, Wood solid and in good shape, plenty of iron, and the extra heft of the wartime planes are valued by many. This one is an early model, bakelite adjustment knob, but with brass metal, not aluminum, and it has a frog adjustment screw, which is unusual for a wartime plane (two of my users are like this, a #5 and my #7); 99% japanning, all original and correct for type, zero apologies, a beaut. I did a quick flattening of the iron and reset the bevel on my Tormek, and it performs. Pics tell the story:
Yours for $45 plus shipping; first PM with an unequivocal "I'll take it" gets priority, and please include your shipping address so I can print up a shipping label and quote you postage. I don't have paypal, so payment by USPS money order please, unless I know you then a check is just dandy.
Another very worthy plane, ready to go, and this one is a real peach, likely worth more on ebay, but I got a good price and am passing it along.....
thanks for looking.
