Porter Cable nailer tip problem

I have a Porter-Cable brad nailer, model 8604 with a tip problem. Used for small projects at times. 

Yesterday, when I put it down, the rubber tip came off. After spending an hour trying to get it on, I gave up in disgust. Used my Senco ( making a file cabinet) and it was like shooting a machine gun at paper. 

Manual has only parts list. Anyone know how this dam this goes back on?

Rick,do a google search " how to install rubber tip on Porter Cable nailers.There is a video explaining this .
