Hand tools: German Smoothing Planes Ulmia and Two Cherries

  Re: (...)
Continuing on with the large sell off, and still trying to get used to the new forum software.  Here we have four good smoothing planes, all need some work, each plane $25 plus postage Paypal check or MO are fine.

Three Ulmia OTT wedged smoothers, hornbeam or beech for the sole.  All will need to be trued and tightened up some, and one is missing the green button decal.  One has a chunk out of the main portion of the plane body immediately in front of the horn.  All have sound horns, rear rests, and excellent steel.  Price reflects condition on these, but 30 mins to an hour worth of work will yield an excellent plane.

The three photos above are representative of condition on the three Ulmia planes.  They all will need some work, none of the three are better condition-wise, just have different issues.  The fourth plane on offer (also $25) is a wedge Zwei Kirsche (Two Cherries) with either the remnants of a lignum sole or a user applied veneer of sorts, this one will need to be trued as it is out of flat front to rear by a good bit. The iron is short compared to the Ulmia planes but should still provide many years of good use.  This one might need the most work of the four but should also be the best of the bunch.  In better condition this would be a $50+ plane.

More to come eventually, but photobucket is feeling especially uncooperative at the moment.  Thanks for looking!

Attention user overland, your pms are still disabled.

As per the question, two of the Ulmia planes are bedded at 45' while the third and the Two Cherries are bedded at 50'.
