FS: Atkins No. 70 Crosscut Panel Saw -- Circa 1919 Freshly Sharpened -- SOLD

  Re: (...)
Here is an absolutely stunning Atkins No. 70 crosscut panel saw. If it weren't for a couple of blemishes on the plate and a small chip on the top horn, you'd think it was fresh from the dealer's shelf. This saw was so clean that there was no need to remove the handle. Only a light polishing and waxing of the plate was needed.

This saw is 24 inches long, with 10 ppi crosscut teeth that have been freshly sharpened by hand with 15 degrees of rake and 25 degrees of fleam. I chose not to repair the chipped horn since I didn't want to disturb the original finish on the tote.

This saw is much older than it looks. The No. 70 appears in the 1919 Atkins catalog, but not in the 1923 edition, making it about 97 years old.

Better grab this saw fast or I might change my mind about selling it and put it in my saw till.

$90 plus insured shipping
