Window Glazing & Primer

I appreciate all of the suggestions! With glazing compounds, Saraco & OSI, is it advisable to first apply linseed oil to the dried window casing?

I used thinned Penetrol, works better than linseed oil and was recommended by the old house experts.  But yes, you need to seal and condition the wood before applying the glazing putty.
