Do you see any issue with a 13' 6" top? I have them about 10' apart measured from the farthest point on the bases. With overhang it's getting up there. I can't see pushing these closer than I have them in the picture.

Personally, I would have them a little closer to have  24" to 28" overhang on each end.  I would probably cut a 2x4 to 13' 6", place it on top then step back and decide.
