Years ago, while doing a stint as a Army Recruiter, I noticed a young man walking past the office with some sort of contraption on his arm. Curiosity got the better of me, so I walked out, met him, and asked what was on his arm. He had basically cut his arm off with a radial arm saw and had it reattached. The contraption was providing tension to allow the arm bones to heal straight.
