Hey guys, I’m looking for some Delta shaper parts. I got a really good deal on a Delta 5hp shaper with a power feeder but all that came with it is a 1 ¼” spindle. Since the vast majority of my shaper cutters are ¾” bore this is a problem. I did a whole bunch of searching online and managed to find a ¾” spindle and bought it. The problem is the spindle doesn’t come with the nut, spacers or washers all of which have been discontinued. I would also like to try to find a router bit spindle that doesn’t cost $300. I have quite a few large diameter router bits that will be fine at 10k RPM that I would really like to not have to replace with shaper cutters if possible. Like I said I have found a few parts using my Google Fu and bought some but there just doesn't seem to be many parts available. The shaper I have is the 43-454 which has the longer 8 degree taper on the spindles. If anyone has any parts just send me a PM and let me know what you want for them.

you can try here
I cannot remember if Richard carries the new spindle parts or not.
but a phone call if the site does not yield results should get you answers.

Try Harold Barker. Usually has the parts and prices are usually reasonable

Ballew Tool in Springfield MO. has been a long time Delta dealer. They may have something.
They have a website, but a phone call to them would be better. I used to deal with Jack.

There was somebody over at OWWM that made Delta spindles out of Grizzly spindles. Maybe try there. Maybe somebody here knows who it is. If you haven't been over there tread lightly because you can't mention the big green bear even thought quite a few people use it for parts.
I think there is both a long taper and a short taper spindle. I don't know which one you have.

Thanks guys. I gave the guy Joe recommended and it looks like he may be able to provide the rest of the hardware for a 3/4" spindle I found online. Now I just need to track down the router bit adapter. The 3/4 spindle was the big one I needed though.
