Another vote for "know the hardware." Every hinge and base plate yields different results.
And also ALWAYS test the holes and the overlay. There is nothing worse than being off my 1 mm and not having enough room to make it up with adjustments.
I've become a big fan of the Blum euro hinges with the built in Blumotion. Soft close and no parts to fall off like the old style of clip on blumotion.
