I finished the coffee table tonight. Like most projects, there are things I will do differently next time.

Did you put a topcoat on the top?
Or just leave it with Danish oil?

nocrapman, Gabby, and chips ahoy thank you. The top has 3 layers of amber shellac and two layers of wipe on polyurethane over the danish oil.

www.milkpaint.com . I mixed and applied it as described in The Anarchist Design Book. The kids did the painting and were pretty convinced it would look terrible after the first coat. Surprisingly, they liked rubbing with brown paper between coats and painting. They both gave their approval when we got done.
