The Stihl FS45 is the only trimmer I've never had to take the head off to load. Simply line up the arrows, feed the line in the discharge holes until it's grabbed by the stops, spool out two equal lengths and then twist the ratcheting head until it loads. This feature is priceless to me. I have 3 Stihl gas landscaping tools and they are the only brand I will ever buy again.....and I bought all of them in good used condition. The only other yard tool I own is an old electrical B&D orange edger. Metal body and built like a tank. $5 and still running strong 13 years later. I do hate running the power cord to it. I figure the 48" Exmark hydro walk behind makes up for that time though.
