I need to replace the grout between the wall tile and the pan in our shower. We had a fire some years ago with smoke damage everywhere and when the restoration company repaired the shower, they simply covered the old grout with caulk. It is now falling apart so I need to remove what is left of the original grout and fix it. The rest of the grout in the shower is in good shape. Is there a special grout for this seam? Seems like something that would allow some movement would be preferable?

Yes you do want to allow for movement so caulk is best. They make caulk to match the grout, sanded and non sanded.( look in tile dept. ) They also recommend caulk anywhere the tile changes plane such as a corner or where materials change such as a ABS shower pan and ceramic tile. Roly

Thanks Roly, that makes sense. Does it come in a caulking tube?
