I was in the boneyard today and scrounged a #78 lever cap to use on my #72 frankenplane user. Then I went to visit my slow speed grinder which has a Scotchbrite wheel attached.
As you can see, the lever cap is "less than pristine."
But a minute on the wheel made the screw head bright again.
Then I used a regular SB pad on the body and followed up with some Johnsons paste wax.
Ahh. That's much better. And it only took a few minutes.
