I have one of those I don't like the plastic steps as much as the ladder

I think you will have to decide your needs. I have the Keller version of the Little Giant, and I agree its heavy and gets heavier every year. I have a 4' that is my go to in the house most of the time. Unless I am working against the ceiling it is usually fine. I do prefer heavy duty fiberglass. The ones (werner I think) with the platform also look nice. I would wait for a sale if you can.

I have a
Cosco similar to the Werner. I have had it for several years, so the ladder I linked to is not exactly the same, but close. I am not sure if it is better or worse than the Werner, but it works great inside the house.
