Table Slides, some history

Folks often post little pieces of wood working history.  In my search for a table slide with ~6 extensions, I came accross the Watertown Table Slide Company.  They have been in business since the late 1800's.  They made wood slides into the 1970's and made metals slides from that time forward.

Good timing. Had our table open to install the leaves for the recent Christmas dinner
guests. Always get a kick out of those mechanisms. Reminds me of crawling under
a table as a boy and being fascinated with them.  Don't know if our table is sporting
one of their products, but from the article you linked, it's a good bet.

Appears they are still in business, as part of a larger corporation, naturally.
