Marking suggestion

Today in the shop, I tried using a carbide scribe for striking a line on a piece of cherry. Worked very nicely, giving a consistent mark. One caveat, the scribe should be used like you would a double bevel marking knife, making sure the point follows the square.

My tool is a "General" brand, available at any borg, for about $5.00.
