We dug the footers this morning.

"The Roost" is officially under construction.

Bad news is that I'm no young pup anymore.  Cleaning out the trenches for the footers with a shovel has caused the old body to send numerous "error messages" to my brain.

Still got 60 feet or trench to clean out before inspection tomorrow.

Then let some younger folks pour some concrete.
Cool

Planned on having this done last April.

good news. Know what you mean about shoveling, this heavy snow we got really did a number on me, not good for much else.

When do you have to start building the house?

Not sure but it will be after I finish "The Roost" so we can store/work on things for the house.

Farmer let me use these tench clearing shovels that were like a can on a long handle. Really took out the rocks.

Glad its my shop I am responsible for - I only have to make me happy.

Yeah, it can really hurt. But congrats on persevering.
I started with absolutely nothing. Now, thanks to years of hard work, careful planning, and perseverance, I find I still have most of it left.

I dunno.  I imagine fighting with city hall that much could make one feel like they've been digging ditch all day.

Congrats and good luck.  Looking forward to pics of the build.

Got the footers dug yesterday and passed inspection today.

Will pour the footers when the next weather break allows, then the foundation block.

Remember the old song about the Billy Goat and the dam?   Maybe that why my head has been hurting
