Purple Heart

What finish do you recommend for purple heart.  It will see minimal UV rays, currently is fairly purple after cutting and sanding, it's been about 5 days.

I was thinking UV protection type of water based poly.

That's probably about as good of a choice as any.  Avoid anything oil based.  It will turn the purpleheart brown.
If you are going down a river at 2 mph and your canoe loses a wheel, how much pancake mix would you need to shingle your roof?

Here are the WB clear coats I know of with good UV packages:

Sherwin Williams Kem Aqua Plus
General Finishes High Performance  Poly
Target Coatings EM-9300

All can be sprayed but only the HP Poly is brushable.
