Hi all, I recently scored a vacuum pump with hose at a woodworking auction. One end of the hose is already connected to the pump and the other end doesn’t have a fitting on it. I am interested in getting a vacuum bag for doing glued laminations. Does anyone have a recommendation of a good place to buy vacuum bags? Also, what sort of fitting would I need to connect to the bag? Any help on this would be great. Thanks.

Check out
veneer supplies. It's someimtes referred to as Joe Woodworker..
He not only has the bags you need (hint: you want the polyurethane bags, they cost more and are worth every penny of the extra cost.) but he also sells kits to build your own stuff and the needed parts. Besides all that, he has great customer service.
I started with absolutely nothing. Now, thanks to years of hard work, careful planning, and perseverance, I find I still have most of it left.

+1 on Veneer supplies. Shoot him an e-mail with pics of what you have and I'm sure he'll get you set up.

I've vacume clamped, using a slate pool table top.
Layed a piece of clear vinyl, over it, with a bolt in valve stem, for the vacume hose.
Duck taped the vinyl and sucked away.
Worked fine.
