I only need a dozen of them for a knock-down cradle. I don't want to use the cross dowels so I'll install threaded inserts.

shows how I used these bolts and the threaded inserts in building a crib.
Several of the pictures demonstrate useful techniques for installing the threaded inserts perfectly square and true.

Yup. I did much the same thing when I built the 3-n-1 crib/day bed that Rockler had years ago. That's where I got the idea of using these for the cradle I'm building. It had just been so long that I couldn't remember what they were called.
