Fine Woodworking has had a few articles about carving with a small electric chainsaw, so I thought about getting one.  It would be really dangerous if it didn't stop when you let off the trigger, and even if not, it would be a lot easier to ruin a work piece

I suppose it wouldn't be as dangerous the _second_ time it failed to stop
