Looking for ~50 BF of clear dark Walnut
#11
My mom just asked for a new tabletop and would like it out of walnut. I'm on the wrong coast and it is hideously expensive in the Seattle area. Like $8 to $10 BF. I work for a huge company that has great shipping rates and was hoping someone had some clear dark walnut much more affordably. I'd buy up to ~100 BF or more and resell it if it was the right price.
I haven't spent a lot of time scouring the internet, I'd prefer to work with a Woodnetter if possible.
Thanks!

Walnut prices are thru the roof because of Thousand canker disease, among other factors.
It runs $12.50 / bd. ft. & up for #1 grade in my area.

Wow, I've been gone from woodworking for a while, I remember that the right coast was much more affordable but maybe she needs a veneer top!

I have some rough cut dark walnut lumber in the shop but I don't know how much but happy to pull it and check.  I'm in PA and don't have a clue about shipping.  With that said, there are a lot of mills around here that ship and sell Walnut for around $5 bdft, less if you purchase quantity.  They may ship or if you have a shipping company that can pick it up and get it to you, that would be great.  Here are a few CL ads of lumber mills in my area.  I also added Bingaman Lumber as I know they ship world wide.  I used to work there and left a few years ago.  Got all my hardwood at $0.59/bf.  I got in real good with the tallyman and sometimes he wouldn't tally all the lumber I pulled.  We shipped lumber to China several times a week.  For some reason, they really had a liking for white oak.  Anyway, I know they ship, your carrier or theirs.  But if you get desperate, check out the links below.

What thickness are you seeking? I specialize in walnut and curly maple. Can probably help.
Thx

I am about 10 miles from that last one . I should hop down and grab it . I prefer air dried .

If it can't kill you it probably ain't no good. Better living through chemicals.
