First tablesaw safety reminder of the new year...
#64
I've only been able to give a movie 1 & 3/4 thumbs up for nearly 20 years now. That is how I learned not to use the fence and miter gauge at the same time. So it happens, I am sorry it happened to you, and I wish you a speedy recovery. When I upgraded my contractor's saw a few years ago, I took a look at my son, grit my teeth, and bought a Sawstop. No regrets; it's a well-made saw in addition to the added measure of safety.
Math is tough. Let's go shopping!

Way overdue reply! Have not been online in a while, came in to post some items for sale. (more sales to follow) Saw this post and thought I'd follow-up.

I have continued working on my shop, without incident, since the accident. However, now starting to sell off tools, as I am nearing retirement my back has decided that I need to do other things besides work in the shop... I still have my other hobbies that do not involve all the heavy lifting and lots of standing. Just rearranging my priorities.

So here is the current status. I have full movement and strength in my finger, thank God!. I just can't quite straighten it out due to the scar tissue. I have most of the feeling back now, just some tingly feeling in the right side around the tip.

Thanks again from all for the well wishes and I wish the best and safest for all in your shop!

Glad you have progressed well.

Sorry about you needing to sell off your shop due to back issues.
