Sometimes you have to keep the tradition alive. Said it before....you can make really good dovetails with a hacksaw, a sharpened screwdriver, and a ball peen hammer.

mechanically.

There are floating cleats attached to the cross pieces. If I had a picture, it would be obvious, but it's a little hard to describe.
