1st Bandsaw Box - Cherry with Sap Wood
#11
Inspired by the recent bandsaw box thread, I decided to make one from cherry with sap wood.  Need to apply the final coat of finish (Minwax Antique Oil) and flock the inside of the drawers.  Overall pretty happy.  Sure was a lot of sanding!

Very nice and I like the sap wood that was included.  I also like the curves of this piece....I guess a signature trademark of bandsaw boxes.

..got that right.

Nice box.  What is the drawer pull?

I have a combo 6"belt/9" disk sander,
combo 4" belt/4" spindle sander,
12" disk sander on the ShopSmith,
can run all my spindle sanding drums on the ShopSmith drill press,
5" orbital sander that I have made stationary and
my hand sanding drawer is out of room.

Sure is a lot of sanding...but that is the finishing touch
that makes it all come together.

So, what is the next box going to be?

Thanks all.

The pull is a bit of burl scrap, but it’s not very “burly”. I have another similar piece of cherry that I might use for my next one. And maybe make a disk sanding attachment for my lathe.

I really do have to make one of my own sometime instead of letting others destroy wood.

That turned out nice. Lois Ventura has a lot of great looking designs.

I need to get myself in gear and get a few more built. I was able to grab a few cherry boards from our conservation club that were cut about 30 yrs ago from the club grounds.
