Lesson in repeating cuts
#13
Recently I got into trouble not over-thinking but residual-thinking while building an interior gate to keep the cats out of the bedroom. We’re not cat people but they came with our daughter’s family whom we are sheltering after the Camp Fire here in Northern California. Keeping it light and as open as possible I spaced some 3/8" x 4' dowels inside a 30" x 4' frame. Lots of time to think out the issue. Come time to cut the rails residual thinking prevailed and I was glad I bought extra Poplar. I didn’t go the full 30" for a bridal joint, just the space in between the stiles.
