Drilling half-inch thick Corian
#7
I'm wondering about the drill speed at which I should set my floor-mounted drill press.  I'll be drilling through holes for a project.  If you've done this (or something like it), I'd be grateful for your thoughts.  Thanks.

Treat it as you would just about any brittle, easily splintered hardwood. Use a sharp bradpoint bit with a speed appropriate to the diameter, and always back it up with a block of wood on the exit because it will blow out otherwise.
It's not always the quiet ones who don't have much to say.

Not as fast as wood and not as slow as steel. You might want to keep a spray bottle of water misting on the bit and hole to keep the plastic from melting, aid lubrication and keep the cut clean. Agree with the brad-point bit.

I came to a stop sign and a skanky tweaker chick in a tube top climbed out of the brush and propositioned me.  She looked like she didn't have any teeth so I counted that as a plus.

Done it many times. Tinman is absoutly correct. Treat corian like any hardwood. It will dull any tye of cutter faster, but is very workable.

How large are the holes if 1/2 or bigger I would use a plunge router with a 3/8 bit and spiral down
