Respirator

Can anyone recommend a decent respirator for woodworking?  The more I read and watch videos on woodworking, I see more and more people using them now and I think it is a good idea to have/wear one at least some of the time when running the power tools, sanding, and finishing.  Thanks as always...FPT.

I use the Elipse Low Profile Respirator available at Lee Valley http://www.leevalley.com/en/wood/page.as...2207,43647. Very happy with it. If you require one with a face shield then try a Trend Air Shield Air/Pro available at Amazon. HTH.

I use the Elipse P100 NIOSH Respirator. It's reasonably priced and has replaceable filters. For the most part, they're comfortable to wear. I had them on for 3 hours yesterday while sanding and I'm glad I had them. I think you'll find they are well-reviewed. I also purchased the hardshell case to store them. That way I can just keep them where I can see them and I'll remember to wear them. I think with all the health information available now, respirators are a must when sanding, etc.

I have been using the RZ mask and am happy. Comfortable and doesn’t fog up my glasses as bad as other masks

After buying two(at local stores), I found it is wise to buy a brand/model with easy to find replacement filters.

I too recently discovered the Elipse - definitely one of the nicer ones I've used!

I have a 3M 6000 series half face respirator that I like and have used for years.  I have only used the particle filter with mine, but you cann get other filters for other purposes like solvents.  They sell for about $20.  Plenty durable and not too uncomfortable.  It doesn't fog up my glasses if it's adjusted properly which isn't a big deal.  I'd buy another one if this one ever wears out.  Filters available in several stores in town.
