WTB Stanley #18 Cast Iron Block
#7
Looking for a Stanley #18 with the cast iron sole.

Stanley made oodles of block plane styles and the #18 must have been one of the more prolific. Started out this adventure looking for a #65, and then realised the model I wanted was the smaller #18. I think this had the knuckle joint cap only.

Hi, Arlin. I have a couple of those links on my watch list. At least one has been reposted. The 18-1/4's lack the adjustable mouth. Thanks for looking out for me.

I am shying away from dah' Bay. I purchased a #65 that was never delivered. The selling agent stole it from the owner who actually refunded me. I paid state sales taxes, however.

Thanks, Arlin. I appreciate your help.

Continuing...

Woody Crafts might have an option, but I have been pretty irritated with Chinese garbage being passed off as a "fake-rich" competition to Western made tools. Woodcraft make no concession for that disparity in any of their China-made products. Call them the New Wally World of Tools.

The next old tools "boot sale" parking lot sale in the Pac. NW,.... I am going!
