I once had a woodworking magazine, Woodsmith, Fine Woodworking, or Shop Notes, that had plans for a machinist-type
chest as the cover article and had complete plans for making the chest. This magazine would have been in the late 1980's through the early 2000's time period.
This chest was frame and panel construction and was made from maple - curly maple for the frame and birdseye maple veneer over hardboard for the panels.
I've accumulated the materials and now have time to do the construction but no longer have the magazine.
Does anyone else recall this magazine or have a copy they would sell?

I made two of the plan Stoppy linked at Woodsmith: I don't recall how many years ago I did this. I use mine as a fly-tying box, and I gave the second that I made to my friend who introduced me to fly fishing; he and I have been fishing together since High School (a long, long time ago).
The main wood was red oak, with walnut crotch for the panel.
Couple of pics; the pictures are dated 2012, but I made the boxes years before the pics were taken. First with the chest sitting beside a materials box I made out of reclaimed barn wood:
