I could see the benefits of that.  I am going to build in that ability somehow.  My bench typically sits against the wall.

I used Tee nuts and the machine screws go all the way through the leg. I switched to stainless steel machine screws because the unplated screws started to rust almost over night in wood. I like having the ability to do a quick caster removal so I done trip on them and I can use the casters on more than one item.
