My wife was a commercial artist back when those things were done with ink and pens and when I asked her what was the number one lesson from those experiences she answered “let it dry”. It’s a good rule to observe.
I once glued some green (not kiln dry) white oak with gorilla glue and more than one joint failed as the oak dried. Not the same, but there you are.
